Katie Peters is a Research Associate at the Global Risks and Resilience department of the Overseas Development Institute (ODI). She holds a PhD candidacy at the Department of Geography, University of Cambridge, supervised by Dr. Ayesha Siddiqi, focusing on disaster risk governance in conflict settings from a decolonial perspective. With over 15 years of experience in disaster risk reduction (DRR) and climate security, she has led major projects like the Advancing Integration initiative and contributed to policy-oriented research on the intersection of disasters, poverty, climate change, and conflict.
Research Interests include:
- Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) in fragile and conflict-affected states
- Climate Change and Conflict Nexus
- Securitisation of Climate Change
- Resilience Investment and Policy Coherence
- Urban Informality and Fragile Peace
