Katie Herbert Meyer is a Professor at the Washington University in St. Louis School of Law and serves as the Director of the Immigration Law Clinic. She teaches courses in Immigration Law & Policy and U.S. Refugee & Asylum Law, while mentoring students in immigration law and public interest work.

Her research interests center on immigration law, with a focus on refugee and asylum law, family-based immigration, naturalization, and deportation defense. She also emphasizes trauma-informed approaches to legal practice and the impact of secondary trauma and burnout in the legal profession.
Professor Meyer is actively involved in professional organizations, including the American Immigration Lawyers’ Association (AILA), where she contributes to the national Asylum and Refugee Committee, and the Missouri Bar. She regularly conducts legal trainings in immigration and refugee law.
