معرفی
Katie Finegan is a Senior Lecturer in Cancer Biology & Therapy at the University of Manchester's Pharmacy Department. Her research focuses on mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs), particularly ERK5's role in cancer and fibrosis. She leads a cohesive research program combining biological insights with drug development, notably through CRUK-funded projects targeting ERK5 in Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC).
Her expertise includes cellular signaling, translational research, and therapeutic development. Key projects involve ERK5 inhibitors for TNBC, osteosarcoma metastasis prevention, and fibrosis treatments. She has received awards for her work, including a CRUK Drug-Discovery award.
- Research Interests: MAPK signaling, cancer inflammation, fibrotic diseases, drug development
- Notable Projects: ERK5 inhibitors for TNBC, ERK5's role in mesothelioma inflammation, and macrophage responses in wound healing
- Awards: CRUK Drug-Discovery award and senior colleague nominations for external honors
Her work bridges basic science and clinical application, with ongoing collaborations in drug development and translational oncology.
