Katie E. Cardone

Katie E. Cardone, PharmD, BCACP, FCCP, is a Professor and Department Chair of Pharmacy Practice at the School of Pharmacy, Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. Her expertise lies in nephrology pharmacy, particularly optimizing medication use in dialysis patients. She holds a PharmD from Albany College of Pharmacy and completed a fellowship in Nephrology Pharmacy there.

Research focuses on improving medication management for patients on dialysis, including hypertension, chronic kidney disease, and antimicrobial therapy optimization. She teaches Nephrology Therapeutics and elective courses in nephrology patient care at ACPHS. Practice sites include Hortense and Louis Rubin Dialysis Centers and My Medz Medication Management Service.

Notable contributions include a 2020-2021 grant ($49,999) from NY State on mobile health technology for hypertension/cholesterol management.
