Katie Beckmann is a Lecturer in Wildlife Health & Conservation Medicine at the Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies, University of Edinburgh. A European Veterinary Specialist in Zoological Medicine and member of the IUCN/SSC Conservation Translocation Specialist Group, she integrates wildlife health into conservation planning through applied research and teaching.

Her research focuses on health risk analysis for conservation translocations, particularly waterbird projects. Current work includes disease surveillance in UK red squirrels and One Health frameworks for Tanzania's game meat industry. She co-supervises a PhD student at Universidade Federal de Viçosa, Brazil.
