Katia Cejie is a Professor of Financial Law at the Department of Law, Uppsala University, where she teaches and researches primarily on income taxes and cross-border taxation (EU and international tax law). She has held multiple leadership roles including Program Manager for the one-year Master's program in Comparative and International Taxation since 2017, Director of the Center for Tax Law Foundation since mid-2022, and CEO of Tax Law Forum AB.

Her research focuses on income taxes and social security contributions in cross-border situations, particularly how international mobility of workers affects taxation and economic growth. She examines conflicts between tax systems and social contributions across jurisdictions, proposing solutions to enhance predictability and legal certainty. Current research includes analyzing the Swedish and Chinese understandings of the rule of law and legal tax culture from intellectual and institutional perspectives.
Recent publications (2021–2025) address teleworking taxation, exit taxes, social security contributions, EU tax compliance, and cross-border employment income. Her work appears in journals like World Tax Journal, Bulletin for International Taxation, and European Journal of Comparative Law and Governance. Notable awards include Uppsala University's Pedagogical Prize (2019) for efforts in gender equality and equal conditions.
