Dr. Katia Attuyer is an Assistant Professor in Urban Planning and Environmental Management at the University of Birmingham’s School of Geography, Earth and Environmental Sciences. She holds a PhD from Trinity College Dublin and MA from University College Dublin, alongside a Licence in Geography from Université Lyon 2. Her research focuses on urban geography with dual emphases: community engagement in urban redevelopment, neoliberal urban policies, and financialisation; and well-being in later life linked to urban environments. She leads modules on urban geography, policy design, and dissertation labs.

Recent publications explore post-political urban governance, large-scale development dynamics, and care mobilities in aging societies.
