Dr. Kathy Leadbitter is a Senior Lecturer in the Division of Psychology & Mental Health at The University of Manchester. Her research focuses on neurodiversity, autism, and interventions for neurodivergent populations, emphasizing global health and participatory methodologies. She holds a PhD in Developmental Psychology from Lancaster University (2009) and an MSc in Developmental Psychology (2003).
Her work prioritizes pragmatic, high-impact research to improve the lives of autistic individuals and families globally. Key areas include communication development, caregiver interventions, and culturally adapted treatments. She leads large-scale projects such as the STAR-CAT and NAMASTE trials, addressing mental health and service gaps in low-resource settings.
