Kathryn Sylva

Kathryn Sylva is Associate Professor of Design at the University of California, Davis. She holds an MFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute and a BA in Art Studio from UC Davis. Her research includes visual communication projects on eating disorders and the American eugenics movement.

Sylva collaborates with nutrition researchers to develop visual strategies for health education. Her project 'Eating Disorders in a Disordered Culture' has been exhibited internationally, examining cultural and personal dimensions of eating disorders.
