Kathryn Medill is an Assistant Teaching Professor at the University of Washington and holds a Ph.D. in Hebrew Bible and Northwest Semitic Languages and Literatures from Johns Hopkins University (2020). Before joining UW in 2022, she taught at Johns Hopkins University, Towson University, and Eastern University.
Her research focuses on statistical approaches to Semitic linguistics and the socio-historical development of scribal norms in the Hebrew Bible and other ancient Semitic literatures. At UW, she teaches courses such as Elementary Biblical Hebrew, Introduction to the Hebrew Bible, Introduction to the Ancient Near East, Myths from the World of the Bible, and specialized topics like Royal Literature in the Bible and the Ancient Near East and Wisdom Literature in the Bible and the Ancient Near East.
