Kathryn M McPherson is a Professor and Undergraduate Program Director in York University's Department of History. She earned her PhD from Simon Fraser University, an MA from Dalhousie University, and a BA (Honours) from the University of Winnipeg. McPherson's research focuses on women's histories, particularly in nursing, health, labor, and sports contexts.
Her administrative leadership includes serving as Director of Undergraduate Studies (2021-2023), Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs (2014-2019), and Chair of the School of Women's Studies (2002-2007). McPherson has contributed to scholarly organizations including the Canadian Historical Association where she chaired the Macdonald Prize Committee and co-directed Histoire sociale/Social History.
