Kathryn E. Stecke is a Professor of Operations Management at the Naveen Jindal School of Management at the University of Texas at Dallas, holding the Naveen Jindal School Advisory Council Chair. She previously taught at the University of Michigan Business School for 21 years and has served as an adjunct professor at the University of South Australia since 1999. She earned her PhD in Industrial Engineering from Purdue University in 1981, with dual MS degrees in Industrial Engineering and Applied Mathematics (1977, 1974), and a BS in Mathematics from Boston State College (1972).
- Research Focus: Flexible manufacturing systems, seru production, supply chain disruptions, bundling strategies, and operations-marketing interfaces.
- Editorial Leadership: Founding Editor-in-Chief of the International Journal of Flexible Manufacturing Systems and Operations Management Education Review, with roles on editorial boards of 15+ journals.
- Professional Recognition: INFORMS Fellow (2009), POMS Fellow (2017), and recipient of the Kimball Medal and WORMS Award. Her 1980s-2000s Management Science papers are among the 50 most influential in 50 years.
- Academic Service: Held leadership roles in INFORMS (Vice President, Board Director) and POMS (Board Director, Conference Chair).
