Kathryn E. Hall

Kathryn E. Hall is an Assistant Professor and Assistant Dean of Master's Programs in the School of Nursing at the MGH Institute of Health Professions. She also serves as Nurse Director for the Translational and Clinical Research Centers at Massachusetts General Hospital, integrating academic leadership with clinical research administration.

Dr. Hall’s research and clinical expertise center on neurological diagnoses, particularly headache disorders such as migraine and hypnic headache. Her work spans biofeedback therapy, sports-related head injuries, concussion management, and ethical considerations in nursing. She has published extensively on these topics, with recent work exploring the grading of sports-related brain injuries and secondary headaches linked to cerebellar tumors. Her teaching includes Advance Health Assessment and Primary Care 3 in the Adult-Gero NP programs.

The most recent articles highlight her focus on neurological assessment, diagnostic imaging in migraine, facial pain evaluation, and innovative care coordination models. Her publications reflect a strong interdisciplinary approach, combining neurology, nursing, and clinical research.

Dr. Hall is ANCC Board Certified as an Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP-BC) and Nurse Executive (NE-BC), with over 25 years of experience as a nurse practitioner, educator, and administrator. She regularly presents at national conferences, including on topics such as nurse comfort in discussing firearm safety and hemolysis in clinical research samples.
