Kathryn Bruce is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Sciences at Life University. She holds a Ph.D. in Molecular and Cell Biology from the Georgia Institute of Technology, an M.S. in Biology from Georgia College, and a B.S. in Biology from the University of Georgia. Her research focuses on prion species barriers and protein misfolding mechanisms linked to diseases. She has received notable fellowships, including the United States Department of Education Graduate Fellowship for educator training and the Georgia Tech Presidential Fellowship.
Dr. Bruce teaches courses across Life University’s main campus and online programs, including BIO 101, BIO 111/112, BIO 312 (Cell Biology), BIO 316 (Genetics), BIO 431 (Microbiology), and MNTR 6100 (Nutritional Epigenetics). She has also participated in the Chillon Project as a faculty member, contributing to interdisciplinary academic initiatives.
Her scientific contributions are highlighted through her fellowships and research into molecular mechanisms of disease, with a particular emphasis on prion-related studies and protein misfolding. While no specific publications are listed, her teaching and research interests underscore expertise in biomedical sciences and medical education.
