معرفی
Kathryn Amy Cross is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) School of Medicine. Her research focuses on neurophysiological biomarkers for movement facilitation in Parkinson's disease and imitative behavior's neural mechanisms.
- PhD in Neuroscience (2013), UCLA
- MD in Medicine (2015), UCLA
- Neurology Residency (2019), UCLA
- Movement Disorders Fellowship (2021), UCLA
Her research bridges neuroscience and neurology, targeting movement disorders through human brain mapping and neuromodulation, with a specific emphasis on neurophysiological biomarkers and beta rhythm analysis in Parkinson's disease.
Cross leads two NIH-funded projects: Neurophysiological Biomarkers of Movement Facilitation in Parkinson's Disease (NIH K23NS119568, 2021-2026) and Neural mechanisms of imitative behavior (NIH F30MH091808, 2011-2014). Both grants focus on understanding neural pathways for therapeutic applications.
At the Cross Laboratory, active research includes the UCLA Parkinson's Disease Gait Study, enrolling patients with freezing of gait and healthy controls to develop novel therapies through electrocorticography and deep brain stimulation studies.
