Professor Kathrin Schumann is a faculty member at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), affiliated with the Department of Medical Microbiology, Immunology and Hygiene within the Faculty of Medicine. She serves as a Project Leader for Research Area AP3 within the SFB 1054 research collaboration.
Her research focuses on immunology and T cell biology, with specific expertise in epigenetic regulation of immune cell differentiation. Professor Schumann leads the Schumann Group, which conducts cutting-edge research using CRISPR screening technologies to investigate molecular mechanisms in human immune responses.
Her current research project (B16) centers on "Epigenetic modulators in human T helper cell differentiation – identification and characterization with CRISPR screens", representing significant contributions to understanding immune system regulation at the molecular level.
Professor Schumann maintains her research laboratory at the Institute for Medical Microbiology, Immunology and Hygiene located at Trogerstraße 30 in Munich, and is actively involved in the SFB 1054 research network focused on immunological research.
