Kathrin Krieger

Kathrin Krieger is a Researcher at the Biospectroscopy department of the Leibniz-Institut für Analytische Wissenschaften – ISAS in Dortmund, Germany. She holds a PhD in progress from Bielefeld University's Neuroinformatics Group. Her research focuses on integrating haptic interaction and extended reality (XR) systems for biomedical data analysis, particularly in volumetric imaging and surgical planning. She contributed to the development of the MedShapeNet dataset and the open-source ISH3DE framework for intuitive 3D data exploration.

Key projects include evaluating haptic gloves for VR applications and advancing multisensory XR systems to enhance medical education and clinical decision-making. Her work is supported by grants from KITE (EFRE-0801977) and the Ministry of Culture and Science of NRW.
