Kathleen Theresa Bailey is a Research Student and Tutor at the School of Education and Social Work, University of Sussex. She teaches on the BA Childhood and Youth Studies program and facilitates a support group for PhD students. Her research focuses on children’s conceptualization of nature in the Anthropocene and its implications for sustainability ideologies.
- Education: MA in Early Years Education with EYTS (University of Sussex, 2017)
Her research integrates posthumanism, new materialism, and feminist philosophy to explore intersections between sustainability, education, and child agency. Recent publications include a 2025 article in Health Education Journal and a 2023 book chapter in Exploring and Celebrating the Early Childhood Practitioner. Awards include the 2019 TACTYC Student Reflective Paper Prize.
She contributes to research projects on sustainability and food production and the history of the Education and Social Work department.
