Kathleen S Paul is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the University of Arkansas, where she serves as Director of Predental Studies. Her research focuses on dental anthropology, using quantitative genetic methods and pedigreed dental cast samples to explore how genes, environment, and development influence tooth size and shape, particularly in deciduous dentition. She leads the Dental Phenomics Laboratory and co-founded the Global Dental Phenomics Project (dentalphenomics.org), which provides a public scan/genealogy repository.

Her work integrates evolutionary developmental biology and bioarchaeology to reconstruct past human relationships and migration patterns. She also participates in Proyecto Tlatelolco, a bioarchaeological study of mycobacterial infection in ancient Mexico. The Dental Phenomics Lab collaborates with clinicians, the UARK MICRO Facility, and international institutions.
