Kathleen McCoy is a Professor of Computer and Information Sciences at the University of Delaware and co-Director of the University of Delaware Artificial Intelligence Center of Excellence (AICoE). She has been a faculty member since 1985, joining immediately after completing her PhD at the University of Pennsylvania.

Her work integrates Machine Learning and Computing Foundations to develop innovative assistive technologies that improve independence and quality of life for individuals with disabilities through AI-driven solutions.

Her professional service includes Treasurer/Secretary-Treasurer of the Association for Computational Linguistics (1998-2007), Founding President of SIG-SLPAT (2011-2013), Co-Editor-in-Chief of ACM Transactions on Accessible Computing (2013-2019), and current Vice-Chair of ACM SIGACCESS.
