Kathleen Lynne Lane is the Roy A. Roberts Distinguished Professor in the Department of Special Education at the University of Kansas and serves as Associate Vice Chancellor for Research. Her roles include leadership in research administration and professional editorship of Remedial and Special Education and Journal of Positive Behavior Interventions. She has authored 11 books and over 200 journal articles.
Dr. Lane’s research focuses on Comprehensive, Integrated, Three-tiered (Ci3T) models of prevention, emphasizing systematic screening for behavioral challenges in K-12 settings. Her work addresses learning and behavior interventions, multivariate analysis (SAS), and school-based methodologies. She leads initiatives to improve teacher training and evidence-based practices.
Her recent publications (2024–2025) highlight advancements in behavioral screening tools (e.g., SRSS-IE), pandemic impacts on student behavior, and Ci3T implementation challenges. She advocates for data-driven decision-making and educator well-being within tiered systems.
