Kathleen Kreis serves as an Adjunct Professor in the School of Education and Leadership Studies at Canisius University. Her academic credentials include a Doctor of Education in Educational Administration from SUNY/Buffalo, a Master of Education in English Education from SUNY/Buffalo, and a Bachelor of Arts in English from D'Youville College.
Her research and professional expertise centers on teacher education and educational psychology, with specific emphases on:
- Teacher job satisfaction and burnout (the focus of her dissertation)
- Adolescent literacy and English teaching methodologies
- Middle school cognition, learning, and assessment practices
- Young adult literature curriculum development
Dr. Kreis brings extensive practical experience from Buffalo Public Schools, where she served as Supervisor of Language Arts, Director of English, and Director of English and Library Services. At Canisius, she teaches courses in adolescent literacy, English methods, and young adult literature while supervising student teachers. She has conducted hundreds of professional workshops on writing instruction, teacher burnout prevention, and communication skills development across educational settings.
