Kathleen Hale is a Professor of Political Science at Auburn University, where she directs the Election Administration Initiative and Graduate Program in Election Administration. Holding a Ph.D. from Kent State University’s Department of Political Science, her expertise spans election administration, policy design, and intergovernmental relationships.
Her research focuses on enhancing the capacity of government and nonprofit organizations to address public problems. She teaches courses in election administration, qualitative methods, and intergovernmental relations.
Dr. Hale leads Auburn’s partnership with the Election Center (National Association of Election Officials) for election professionalization and has served on the advisory board of the MIT Election Data Science Lab. She is the editor of the Science and Teaching Learning Section of the Journal of Political Science Education.
She has authored or co-authored six books, three forthcoming books, four book chapters, dozens of refereed journal articles, over 70 refereed conference presentations, and 70 invited presentations. She has also chaired panels at more than a dozen conferences.
