Kathleen Graber is an Associate Professor of English at Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) and a distinguished poet. Formerly a middle-school English teacher, her career in poetry began at age 35 after attending the Geraldine R. Dodge Poetry Festival. She is the author of three poetry collections: The River Twice (Princeton University Press, recent), Correspondence, and The Eternal City, a finalist for the National Book Award and National Book Critics Circle Award. Her work appears in prestigious journals like The New Yorker, The New Republic, and American Poetry Review.
Graber has received major fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, American Academy of Arts and Letters, and the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation. She actively contributes to literary education as a regular member of the Postgraduate Writers’ Conference faculty at Vermont College of Fine Arts (VCFA).
