Kathleen Gallagher, Ph.D., is a Professor at the Jeanine Rainbolt College of Education and the George Kaiser Family Foundation Endowed Chair in Early Childhood at the University of Oklahoma. She serves as Director of the Early Childhood Education Institute (ECEI) and Associate Director of the Institute for Community and Society Transformation. Her work focuses on applying research to improve early childhood systems, policies, and practices to support children, families, and professionals.
Education:
- B.A. in Early Childhood Education and Special Education, Marquette University
- M.A. in Education Foundations and Policy, Marquette University
- Ph.D. in Educational Psychology, University of Wisconsin-Madison
Research Interests: Dr. Gallagher’s research examines the role of social relationships in child development and learning. She leads community and research-practice partnerships to evaluate statewide systems and improve access to quality early childhood education. Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration to address systemic challenges in early care, education, and workforce development.
