Dr. Kathleen Fear is an Assistant Professor of Instruction (part-time) at the University of Iowa College of Nursing (CON), where she teaches undergraduate and graduate-level pathophysiology and clinical pharmacology. She has been affiliated with the UIHC Nurse Anesthesia program for 20 years and holds dual roles as a clinical practitioner and educator. Dr. Fear earned her DNP from the University of Iowa.
Her professional involvement includes serving on the Iowa Board of Nursing’s clinical practice advisory committee and the NBCRNA committee for SEE item writing. Previously, she held political appointments with the Iowa Association of Nurse Anesthetists (IAANA) and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists (AANA), alongside multiple committee roles at UIHC.
Dr. Fear’s expertise spans nurse anesthesia, clinical education, and healthcare practice standards. She actively contributes to advancing nursing education through curriculum development and clinical guidelines.
