She is also Assistant Staff at Cleveland Clinic's Lerner Research Institute and in Orthopedic Surgery. Her research focuses on tendon tissue engineering and mechanobiology, with applications in regenerative medicine and surgical outcomes.
Education: BS in Mechanical Engineering (University of Massachusetts, 1989), MS in Bioengineering (University of Michigan, 1991), and MD (University of Michigan, 1998). Professional highlights include roles at Cleveland Clinic since 1998, specializing in translational research and clinical collaboration.
Research interests span tendon repair mechanisms, biomaterials for tissue engineering, and clinical outcomes in orthopedic surgery. Recent publications emphasize biomarkers for rotator cuff disease, surgical techniques for tendon injuries, and patient-reported outcomes in shoulder arthroplasty. Industry relationships include royalty payments from Videra Surgical and Viscus Biologics related to commercialized inventions.
