Dr. Kathleen Curtius is Assistant Professor at UC San Diego School of Medicine and Associate Member at UCSD Moores Cancer Center. Her research improves early cancer detection through mathematical modeling of somatic evolution processes.
Current NIH-funded projects include multiscale modeling of spatiotemporal evolution in Barrett's esophagus and optimizing colorectal cancer surveillance schedules. Her lab develops computational approaches integrating multi-omic data to predict cancer progression and optimize screening protocols.
Research interests span mathematical oncology, cancer evolution, and epigenetic aging biomarkers. She holds multiple NIH grants and leads interdisciplinary collaborations integrating computational biology with clinical oncology.
