Carlo Maley

Professor Carlo Maley directs the Cancer and Evolution Lab at Arizona State University's School of Life Sciences. His research applies evolutionary biology, ecology, and computational approaches to cancer prevention and therapy. Key investigations include neoplastic progression dynamics, therapeutic resistance mechanisms, comparative oncology in elephants and whales (Peto's Paradox), and somatic evolution within tumors. He leads the Arizona Cancer and Evolution Center and holds affiliations with UCSF and London's Institute of Cancer Research.
