Katherine Rieser is Director of the Master of Arts in Teaching program and Senior Lecturer in Education at Brown University. Previously, she lectured in English Education at Harvard Graduate School of Education and served as teacher and curriculum dean in Cambridge public schools.
Her research connects teacher education with anti-racist practices in K-12 schools. Current projects include:
- Barr Foundation grant studying teacher mentorship programs
- Research on mentoring conversations' impact on undergraduate interest in education
- Professional development series connecting Brown researchers with local teachers
She teaches graduate courses in teaching foundations and community asset mapping, emphasizing collaborative knowledge construction and practice-theory integration.
