Katherine M. Reinhart is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art History at Binghamton University. Her research focuses on the intersections between art and science in early modern Europe, particularly under Louis XIV's France. She is completing her first book, Images for the King: Art, Science, and Power in Louis XIV’s France, which examines the role of visual materials in the Académie royale des sciences and French absolutist governance.

Her current research projects include studies on early modern scientific materiality, comparative visual culture of scientific societies, and transcontinental image circulation. She collaborates with the 'Visualizing Science in Media Revolutions' Research Group at the Bibliotheca Hertziana - Max Planck Institute in Rome.
Teaching interests span early modern art, art and science, copying practices, and global art history. Her work bridges art history and the history of science, emphasizing visual epistemology and political imagery.
