Katherine Lakin-Schultz is the Coordinator of the French Language Program and a Senior Lecturer in French at Boston University's Department of French & Italian. She holds a PhD in French Language and Literature from the University of Virginia, with prior undergraduate studies at Duke University.
Her research interests focus on Francophone African literature, the Negritude movement, colonial history, and 20th-century French literature. She has taught at UVA and BU, including summer sessions in Lyon, France through UVA's Study Abroad Program. Her teaching emphasizes appreciation for Francophone cultural diversity.
Currently, her office is located at 718 Commonwealth Avenue, Room 201D. Spring 2024 office hours include Tuesdays 12:30-1:30pm (in-person) and Wednesdays 11:00-12:00pm (via Zoom).
