Katherine Joshi

Katherine Joshi is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of English at the University of Maryland, College Park (UMD), where she has taught since 2014. She holds an MFA in Fiction Writing from UMD (2014) and an MA in English from Southeast Missouri State University. Her roles include Assistant Director of the Academic Writing Program (2017–2019), Editor-in-Chief of Interpolations, and involvement with UMD's Summer Transitional Program and Fraternity & Sorority Life. She has also taught at Montgomery College, University of Maryland University College, and Southeast Missouri State University.

Her professional background includes work with the National Endowment for the Humanities and Writopia Lab. As a journalist, she authored a six-part series on Alzheimer’s in 2010 for newspapers in Missouri and Tennessee. Her creative writing has appeared in journals such as Raleigh Review, Big Muddy, and Qu Literary Magazine.

Her teaching and research focus on composition pedagogy, creative writing, and educational program development. She actively contributes to initiatives bridging academic writing and community engagement.
