Katherine Donaldson

Katherine Donaldson serves as Associate Director and Master Teaching Professor for the UTeach Dallas program at The University of Texas at Dallas (UT Dallas), focusing on Science/Math Education within the School of Natural Sciences and Mathematics. She holds a Master of Arts in Teaching (1993) from UT Dallas and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology (1991) from Texas A&M University.

Her research emphasizes STEM teacher preparation, global collaboration in education, and innovative teaching methodologies. Recent work includes evaluating PBI programs and integrating global collaboration frameworks into pre-service teacher training. She has been recognized with the 2021 Outstanding Master Teacher Award from the UTeach STEM Educators Association.

Donaldson leads initiatives funded by grants such as the $500,000 Communities Foundation of Texas award to expand STEM teacher recruitment. She also spearheaded partnerships like the Texas Parks and Wildlife collaboration to develop science/math curricula using bass fishing and conservation themes. Active in professional networks, she contributes to Beyond 100K (addressing STEM teacher shortages) and the UTeach STEM Educators Association.
