Dr. Katherine Alstrin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Blindness and Low Vision Studies at Drexel University, serving as Director of Programs for Teachers and Children with Visual and Multiple Disabilities. Her role is within the Academic Affairs Division of Global, Interprofessional, and Specialized Programming. She holds an EdD from Gwynedd Mercy University, MSEd from University of Kansas, and undergraduate degree from University of North Carolina at Wilmington, alongside specialized certifications in TVI, Orientation and Mobility, and Montessori Education.
Her professional focus includes neurological visual impairment, early childhood unified education, and interprofessional approaches to disability support. She serves as Secretary for the Neurological Visual Impairment Division of AERBVI. Awards include the Donald Blasch Scholarship and Brosius Creativity Award for innovative academic work.
