Katherine A Gunny

Katherine A Gunny is a Professor and Discipline Director in Accounting at the University of Colorado Denver Business School. Her research focuses on earnings management strategies, auditing practices, PCAOB regulations, and financial reporting in capital markets. She holds a PhD in Business from UC Berkeley and advanced degrees in Economics from UC Davis.

Research Interests: Dr. Gunny investigates how managers strategically use accounting information, examining both real and accrual-based earnings management techniques. Her work explores contexts where such practices either harm shareholders or align with value maximization, with additional focus on regulatory impacts on auditing.
