Katharine H. Zeiders is a Professor in the Department of Human Development & Family Science at the Norton School of Human Ecology, University of Arizona. She also serves as Secretary of the Faculty. Her research focuses on stress processes, family dynamics, and the psychosocial well-being of Latino youth, particularly examining how cultural stressors, discrimination, and biological mechanisms like cortisol interact with resilience. She teaches courses such as FSHD 447a (Sociocultural Development) and FSHD 607 (Stress, a graduate seminar).
Her work employs longitudinal and daily diary methodologies to explore how family environments, cultural orientations, and systemic discrimination influence adolescent development. She emphasizes advanced statistical approaches (e.g., latent growth modeling) and physiological measures to understand health disparities.
