Katharine Earnshaw is a Professor at the University of Exeter in the Department of Classics, Ancient History, Religion, and Theology. Her research focuses on ancient poetry (Virgil, Lucan, Lucretius, Ausonius), environmental ethics, cognitive humanities, and interdisciplinary collaborations linking science, humanities, and non-academic partners.

- Former roles: Teaching Fellow at University of Leeds (2008-09), Postgate Teaching Fellow at University of Liverpool (2009-10), Fellow at St John's College, Oxford (2010-16)
Current projects include:
- Co-Investigator and Research Lead for Theme 4: Build in the UKRI Centre for Net Positive Health and Climate Solutions (partnered with UK Health Security Agency, Forest Research, National Trust)
- Co-Investigator and Arts & Humanities lead on a NERC grant for the Future of UK Treescapes programme
- Co-Investigator in the Land Use for Net Zero (LUNZ) Hub
She collaborates with artists like Lauren Gault and Laura Hopes, exploring form in research and non-traditional publishing formats. Her supervision interests span classical poetry, environmental theory, philosophy, and interdisciplinary methodologies.
