Katharine Abruzzi is an Associate Research Professor in the Department of Biology at Brandeis University, specializing in circadian rhythms, neuronal regulation, and transcriptomic analysis in Drosophila. She holds a Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a B.A. from Princeton University.
Research Interests: Her work focuses on the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying circadian regulation of sleep and behavior, neuroendocrine gene expression, RNA biology, and synaptic physiology in Drosophila. Key areas include clock neuron diversity, rhythmic gene expression, and neuropeptide signaling.
Recent Article Trends: Her publications highlight advancements in single-cell transcriptomics, RNA-binding protein targets, and circadian neuron feedback mechanisms. Topics span circadian gene regulation, alternative splicing dynamics, and neuromodulation via dopamine and neuropeptides.
