Katharina Meitinger

Dr. Katharina Meitinger is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences of Utrecht University. Her research and teaching focus on Measurement Equivalence, Survey Methodology, Online Surveys, and Mixed Methods, with additional expertise in Structural Equation Modelling and Qualitative Pretesting.

• Editorial Leadership: She serves on the editorial boards of Public Opinion Quarterly (2022–present) and Survey Research Methods (2019–2026), while also editing special issues in Survey Methods: Insights from the Field (2019–2027) and methods, data, analyses (2021–2022).
• Academic Leadership: She chaired the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Soziologie (2021–2023) and organized numerous summer schools on Bayesian statistics and survey research (2019–2023).
• Research Contributions: Her work addresses challenges in cross-national survey comparability, interviewer effects in fieldwork, and the cultural dimensions of item nonresponse, with applications in multivariate statistics.
