Katharina Becker-Steinberger is a Researcher at the Department of Numerics, University of Ulm since January 2008. Her research focuses on modeling lithium-ion batteries and coupled electro-diffusion-reaction systems. She holds a Diplom in Mathematics from the University of Hamburg (2007), with prior studies in Mathematics and Economics (1998-2004). She was a student research assistant at the Institute for Peace Research and Security Policy (1998-2001).
Her teaching experience includes courses on applied numerics, mathematical modeling, and numerical analysis at both undergraduate and graduate levels from 2003 to 2014. She has presented at workshops such as the WIAS Berlin (2011) and University of Konstanz (2011), discussing advancements in solid-state battery modeling.
She participates in the BMBF-funded project LISA and has collaborated with institutions like BASF (Ludwigshafen) on battery modeling frameworks. Her academic background combines pure mathematics with interdisciplinary applications in energy storage systems and materials science.
