معرفی
Katerina Michalickova is a Principal Teaching Fellow at the Early Career Researcher Institute (ECRI) of Imperial College London, where she leads the Research Computing and Data Science Programme. This programme provides comprehensive training in research computing, data science, and high performance computing for early-career researchers and the broader Imperial community. She previously held roles including HPC Training Specialist (2015–2019) at Imperial’s Research Computing Service and Senior Engineer (2009–2015) at the University of Oslo’s Department of Research Computing. Her academic background includes a PhD and MSc from the University of Toronto, and an MEd from Imperial College London.
Her research spans computational biology, bioinformatics, and medical research, with contributions to fields like protein complex identification, DNA repair mechanisms, and radiobiology. Her work often integrates computational methods with biomedical applications, such as studying cardiovascular changes in hemodialysis patients and developing phylogenomic data pipelines.
Notable contributions include co-developing the SeqHound bioinformatics database and iRefScape Cytoscape plugin for protein interaction analysis. Her training programs focus on equipping researchers with advanced computational skills critical for modern scientific research.
