Katelyn Tollefson

Katelyn Tollefson, Psy.D., is an Assistant Professor in Regent University’s School of Psychology & Counseling and serves as the Assistant Director of the Psychological Services Center. She holds a Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Regent University, with prior degrees from Evangel University (B.A. in Psychology) and Regent University (M.A. in Clinical Psychology). Her clinical experience includes roles at Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital (internship) and the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters’ Child Advocacy Center, where she specialized in trauma-focused treatment for minors affected by maltreatment. Her work emphasizes serving underserved populations and fostering trauma-informed care.

Dr. Tollefson’s research and clinical interests center on pediatric trauma, evidence-based interventions for children and adolescents, and accessibility to mental health resources for marginalized groups. Outside academia, she enjoys outdoor activities with family, dog-walking, and exploring new cuisines.
