Kate Rough

Kate Rough is a Clinical Teaching Assistant in the Department of Rehabilitation Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine, where she teaches neuroscience and clinical skills courses in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program. She is a board-certified clinical specialist in neurologic physical therapy (NCS) with extensive clinical experience across acute care, inpatient rehabilitation, and outpatient settings.

Her teaching emphasizes neuroanatomy and evidence-based management of complex neurologic conditions through both classroom instruction and hands-on clinical training.

Professional Leadership: As Residency Mentor Coordinator, she develops mentorship frameworks for all UW Physical Therapy residencies while delivering didactic instruction in the UW-Evergreen Health Neurologic Physical Therapy Residency Program. She maintains active clinical practice treating neurologic patients in home environments, bridging academic instruction with real-world therapeutic applications.
