Kate Parker is a Professor in the Department of English at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. She has served as Chair of the English Department since 2020 and previously held the role of Faculty Assistant to the Provost for Strategic Planning (2018–2020). Parker is also an editorial board member for Bucknell University Press's Transits: Literature, Thought & Culture, 1650–1850 series (co-editor from 2015–2020).
Her research focuses on literary and cultural studies, with specialization in early modern and eighteenth-century texts. She has contributed to campus and academic discussions through publications such as "I Read Dead People" and "Five Scary Reads by Women... and Dracula," which highlight her engagement with historical and Gothic literary themes.
Awarded a Teaching Award, Parker’s contributions to academia extend beyond research to institutional leadership and pedagogical innovation. She holds a Ph.D. in English and Comparative Literature from Washington University in St. Louis (2011).
Her professional activities include editorial work, strategic planning, and fostering interdisciplinary dialogue in literary studies.
