Kate O'Neill is a Lecturer in the School of Public Health and a Research Fellow in Epidemiology at University College Cork (UCC), Ireland. She holds a BSc in Public Health (1st class honours) from UCC, an MPhil in Epidemiology from the University of Cambridge, and a PhD in Epidemiology & Public Health from UCC. Her research focuses on epidemiological evidence to inform public health policy, particularly in cardiovascular disease prevention, diabetes management, and socioeconomic health disparities.

Research Interests: Kate’s work centers on sex-specific pathways to cardiovascular disease, socioeconomic determinants of health, and policy interventions targeting diabetes and obesity. She leads the HRB-funded project "SocialPaths" exploring life-course socioeconomic pathways to cardiovascular risk and previously contributed to the SCaRLeT project analyzing sex-specific cardiovascular disease aetiology.

Lab/Team Affiliations: Collaborates with the ROLO birth cohort study and contributes to the CHErIsH infant health intervention project.
