Dr. Kate Lancaster is a Senior Lecturer at the University of York, affiliated with the York Plasma Institute within the School of Physics, Engineering, and Technology. Her research focuses on experimental plasma physics, particularly laser-plasma interactions, fast electron generation, and inertial fusion energy. She holds a PhD from Imperial College London (2005) and a BSc from the University of Surrey (2001). Lancaster has served in roles including York Plasma Institute Research Fellow (2015–2018) and Plasma and Fusion Industry Officer (2012–2015).
