Kate Hayes Marshall

Dr Kate Hayes Marshall is a Research Fellow at the University of New South Wales, School of Clinical Medicine, Department of Paediatrics. She holds a PhD in Paediatrics and a Bachelor of Psychology (Hons), with over a decade of experience in medical psychology research focused on quality of life and wellbeing outcomes for individuals with childhood-onset chronic illness and their families.

Her research spans chronic illness, primary care, and mental health, with expertise in both quantitative and qualitative analysis and multi-site project management. She teaches PSYC2061 Social and Developmental Psychology and has a strong track record of peer-reviewed publications, national and international presentations, and significant research funding.

Dr Marshall's work demonstrates particular expertise in pediatric cardiology psychology, with research examining psychosocial outcomes in congenital heart disease, diabetes management, and other chronic childhood conditions. Her publication record shows consistent output with 17 journal articles, 5 conference abstracts, and 1 report, focusing on quality of life assessment, mental health screening, family dynamics, and intervention development.
