Professor Brett Kusevskis-Hayes is a faculty member at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and founding Director of the Sydney Thinking and Reasoning (STAR) Laboratory, which he has led for over 15 years. His research focuses on reasoning, decision-making, human judgment, memory development, and cognitive processes, with a particular interest in two-process theories of cognition and eyewitness memory in children. He has secured over $4M in competitive research funding and served as Head of the School of Psychology at UNSW. His work also bridges fundamental cognitive research with practical applications in forensic/clinical decision-making, early childhood education, and science communication on climate change.
