Dr. Kate Clark is an Associate Professor in the Nursing Department at Eastern Mennonite University (EMU), part of the School of Sciences, Engineering, Art and Nursing. She holds a BS in Nursing (2007), MSN in Communication and Public Health Leadership (2011), and DNP (2018) from the University of Virginia. Her research focuses on immigrant/refugee health, healthcare navigation for non-English speakers, and community health equity. She has taught since 2011, leading courses like Family Nursing in the Community and Evidence-Based Practice in Nursing.
Her professional service includes roles with the Harrisonburg Health Literacy Coalition, Healthy Community Council, and Community Health Worker Program Steering Committee. Awards include the 2011 Public Health Nursing Scholarship Award and 2010 Outstanding Teaching Assistant honor. She has presented on topics like community health worker programs and participatory research in rural settings.
Dr. Clark is a Board-Certified Advanced Public Health Nurse and maintains RN licensure. She actively collaborates with local hospitals (Rockingham Memorial) and organizations like the Mennonite Health Assembly. Her teaching spans undergraduate, RN-BSN, and MSN programs at EMU.
